New Player Guide: How to Get Started on Potly.Win

March 2026

Welcome to Potly.Win. Whether you heard about the platform from a friend, stumbled across it online, or saw a gameplay clip somewhere, this guide covers everything you need to go from brand new to actively competing on the leaderboard. The whole process takes about two minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Hit the Sign Up button on the homepage. You'll need a username, email address, and password. Your username is what appears on the leaderboard, so pick something you want other players to see. It needs to be unique and can't contain offensive language.

During registration, you'll be asked to confirm that you've read the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Rules, and that you're at least 13 years old. These aren't just legal checkboxes — the Rules page in particular is worth reading because it explains exactly how prizes work.

Step 2: Verify Your Email

After signing up, you'll receive a verification email. Click the link in that email to verify your account. This step is required before you can play any games — it's how we ensure that every competitor is a real person with a valid email address.

If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. You can also request a new verification email from your account settings page. The verification link expires after a set time, so don't wait too long to click it.

Why verification matters: Requiring email verification helps prevent fake accounts and keeps the leaderboard fair. It also means we can contact you if you win — winner notifications and payment confirmations are sent to your verified email.

Step 3: Link Your PayPal

This step is optional but important if you want to receive prize money. Go to your account settings (click your username in the top right, then Settings) and add your PayPal email address. This is the email where prize payouts will be sent if you finish in the top 3 at the end of any month.

You can add or update your PayPal email at any time, but it's best to do it early so you're ready when prizes are distributed. If you win without a PayPal linked, we'll notify you and give you time to add one — but setting it up in advance means no delays.

Step 4: Pick a Game

The homepage shows all available games, each with its own leaderboard and prize pool. Right now, the active games include:

Each game has its own prize pool, so competing in multiple games gives you multiple chances to win. Your scores on each game are tracked independently.

Step 5: Play and Improve

Click into any game and start playing. There's no limit on how many times you can play — practice as much as you want. Your highest score for the current month is what counts on the leaderboard. Bad games don't hurt your ranking; only your best performance matters.

Don't expect to top the leaderboard on your first day. The games are designed to be easy to learn but difficult to master. Your first few sessions are about getting comfortable with the mechanics. Real improvement comes with consistent practice over days and weeks.

Understanding the Leaderboard

Each game page shows the current monthly leaderboard on the right side (or below the game on mobile). It updates in real time, so you can see where your latest score puts you immediately after playing. The top 20 players are displayed, along with your personal rank if you're outside the top 20.

Leaderboards reset on the 1st of every month at midnight UTC. This means every month is a fresh start — new players have the same opportunity as veterans because everyone's monthly score resets to zero.

If two players have the same score, the one who achieved it first ranks higher. So there's a small advantage to posting your best score early in the month, though a higher score will always beat an earlier identical one.

How Prizes Work

The ads you see while playing generate revenue. 80% of that revenue goes into the prize pool, which is split among the top 3 players at month's end: 50% for first place, 30% for second, 20% for third. The current prize pool amount is shown on each game page so you always know what's at stake.

Payouts are processed via PayPal shortly after the month ends. You'll receive an email when prizes are generated and another when payment is sent. Your complete payout history is available in your account settings under the Winnings section.

Tips for Your First Week

Play multiple games. Try every game at least a few times. You might discover you're naturally better at one than the others, and each game has its own prize pool.

Don't obsess over the leaderboard yet. Your first week is about building skill, not ranking. Focus on beating your own personal best rather than competing with the top players right away.

Play short, focused sessions. 15–20 minutes of focused play beats an hour of tired grinding. Take breaks between sessions to let your brain process what you've learned.

Keep your ad blocker off. The ads are what fund the prizes. If you block ads, the prize pool doesn't grow. It's a direct tradeoff: you watch ads, the prize pool increases, and the winners get paid more.

Read the game guides. We have specific strategy guides for each game: Wing Rush Strategy Guide and Sky Rise Tips. These cover the mechanics and techniques that experienced players use to post high scores.
